Magazine pack & information sheet
Mining CSI is a quarterly publication which is a communication platform
for mining companies to showcase the success stories and the good work
they do within their communities. Mining companies contribute millions
of rand every year to these communities as part of their Social & labour
Plans (SLP’s) commitments, including Local Economic Development (LED’s)
bursaries, health, housing and schools. However, many South Africans are
not aware of these enormous contributions. Mining CSI is also a proud
partner of Annual Mining Indaba and is also available on this web site.
Mining CSI Magazine Profile
The Department of Minerals and Resources (DMR) has raised concerns
around Local Economic Development (LED) programmes of mining companies,
and just how much - or how little, in their eyes - these corporates are
devoting to economically and socially empowering South African
communities where mining operations take place. While some of these
concerns may be justified, this is largely a misconception, primarily
because of a lack of exposure regarding the initiatives in which these
mining companies are involved, and just how much of a financial
injection they are actually making.
Distribution Channel
Mining CSI magazine is distributed at Mining Indaba annually, Joburg Indaba and Junior Indaba, Mining Companies, DMR Offices, Local Municipalities, Mining Future Forums and mining communities. A minimum of 100 copies are also given to clients to distribute to their stakeholders and communities.
